Ultrasound Education

Ultrasound eduction is not only a collective passion of ours, it is one of our top priorities. The Wayne State University School of Medicine, Department of emergency Medicine Section of Ultrasound is comprised of 8 ultrasound faculty members. Together, we aim to provide a collaborative approach to ultrasound education in the Motor City! Based out of Sinai Grace Hospital, St. John Hospital and Medical Center, and Detroit Receiving Hospital, our goal is to provide a broad and well rounded experience by allowing residents to rotate between sites during their ultrasound scanning shifts. We have also opened our doors to outside rotators seeking a diverse and unique ultrasound elective experience away from their home institution. If you’re interested in finding out more about us, please be in touch!

Ultrasound Curriculum

Our ultrasound curriculum begins during your PGY-1 year and continues throughout your residency. All residents will have a dedicated PGY-1 block or rotation dedicated to learning core bedside ultrasound applications. During your PGY-2 and PGY-3 years, you will have ‘Senior’ ultrasound shifts throughout the year with one of our Wayne State University Ultrasound Faculty members.
